The Trinity Exchange

The Aussie exchange with our sibling College is always highly anticipated and this year it didn’t disappoint! There was stunning array of cultural performances on the Friday afternoon which coincided with a fair few missed lectures dear I say it. Thanks to a strong argument by Sam Clarke, Hamish Muir, and Hugo Bidwill we got off to a good start by winning the debating.

Trinity’s Candystripes (the all-female choir) took the cake with an amazing performance in the musical section. Some laughter ensued with theatre sports showing us how entertaining impromptu performances really can be.

Following the afternoons activities everyone gathered in the new dining hall for the formal welcome, Haka, and Waiata. There were some ‘informal’ post dinner drinks and a party held at a nearby leaver flat which went late into the night.

Most of Saturday was spent relaxing with some sight-seeing in the remainder of the Christchurch CBD before the Super Rugby final was played and the mighty Hurricanes came out on top! The Little Red Cookbook (our very own band) treated us to a magnificent concert to celebrate the win.

A lazy Sunday was spent with a trip to Hanmer Springs with almost all of the Trinity guests, some opted for a far cooler approach by heading up Mt Hutt for some skiing. Come Monday morning everyone said their farewells and the reality of uni was back!
